In 1986, two years after Cottontails opened in Los Alamos, Uli Campbell opened her second store, Uli's in Santa Fe. This was largely in response to a friend and psychiatrist who brought several patients to her to help "find the princess" in women who needed more self-confidence. From that point on, Uli's evolved into a shop where men and women are encouraged to express themselves (even politically) and the often self-consciously trendy constraints of fashion.
Uli was born and raised in Europe. Her mother and grandmother, who was a clothing designer, deeply influenced Uli's own style and sense of fashion.
